Our nature table exchange gift we received.

Christmas 2009

Finally life is starting to feel a little bit like normal. Many of you do not know that we moved this past week.

We found a house to rent and it happened all very quickly and smoothly. Our lease at the apartment was ending in December and we happened to find a great house that was available and ready to move in.

We are very excited to finally have...

A fenced in backyard
A garage
A washer and dryer (new- we feel grown up)
3 bedrooms
hardwood floors
and many more things that are better than living in an apartment.

I just found a Montessori Preschool around the corner. We prefer Waldorf but if in the end we had to choose between Montessori and public preschool we would go with Montessori.

Very quite nice neighborhood with 2 parks very close and also super close to my work. I could bike to work this summer.

As promised here are some photos of the advent wreath and calendar. I am using the Bug's birthday ring as the advent ring and the birthday Gnome is standing in as the Christmas Gnome.

Very excited about the Eric Carle's Pop up Advent calendar I found it at the Portland Nursery when we were there for the apple tasting.

Sunday was the first day of Advent. We lit the first candle at dinner time.

I found a cute little poem to say when we light the candles! I need to get some more brass candle holders- once I do that I will have a photo to share.

If Papa forgets to light the candle at dinner then we have it for bath time!

Sorry I haven't been on here much. The next couple months are seriously going to be over the top busy. If you call and I don't call back i'm apologizing now. If you send me an email and I don't write back I am apologzing now.

NOV- DEC is the busiest time for my work so I will be working a lot. I am still trying to make everyone on my xmas list a hand made gift... I think I'm on project xmas number 6!

The bug has doctor appointments, I have doctor appointments and if we are lucky Josh won't have doctor appointments.

I will check in every once in a while to keep you current in the world of crazy.

H0pe all is well with you and it's not this busy for you!

These are looking like the best cupcakes I have ever made! They are RED. I don't usually end up using enough red food coloring so my from scratch Red Velvet are more like Brown Velvet cupcakes.

I haven't tried one yet but did sample the dough and I think my mouth is still red.

Sneak Peek!

Here's a sneak Peak of the yarn that will transform into something amazing.... there's a little something started on the needles! Christmas project 4! 3 down and ? many more to go?

A little someone getting into his favorite cupboard

hanging out in his room. I moved things around to give him more space... a little reading nook!

Just when I think I have the place safe for him he learns that he can do or get into something else! Is a house ever really toddler proof?

Making some Red Velvet Cupcakes! Finally- thanks Pine Needles in Pincushions!

Knitting Needles

I've been busy lately working on Christmas gifts. My goal this season is to make all the peeps on my Christmas list something. In the past I end up going over board and this year we need to stay a bit in control.

I have two gifts complete and a third on the needles. The third was actually the second but I am running out of yarn and had to find a local source that had the same color. I decided to skip ahead to the third project because it was a fast knit. I completed it this morning. It's a bit bigger than I planned but I guess at the end of the day I would rather have something to big than to small. Room to grow.

This weekend I plan to head over to Alberta St. Close Knits and pick up some yarn.

I have been trying to use up left over yarn and was able to do it with two of the projects.

So I will take photos as I go and then once the gifts are out I will update with photos and who received what.

The fun is I have all these ideas and once they are all made they will get matched up with the perfect person and make the best Christmas gift EVER!

Happy Knitting!

I am a bit bugged right now because I have a little bag of knitting gadgets... double pointed needles, darning needle, measuring tape, stitch markers and I CAN'T FIND IT!

It's making me crazy because I swear it's on the table and it's not. I have looked every where. Our place is not that big so where can it be?

I have two Christmas gifts that are almost finished but I need something out of that little bag in order to finish both of them.

Do I really want to go out and buy new stuff? NO.... but if I can't find it by this weekend I am going to have to.

They say a witch knows where every thing is... well if there are any witches out there please tell me where my little blue bag of knitting goodies is!

Thank you.

Our Season Round Exchange went full circle. We received our package today.

There was a little felted fairy in the package so I was totally over the top excited. The smell of the package must have been amazing because I could hardly keep Miles out of the package.

Photos of what they sent are to the right under my pknitter projects. What we sent to them and what they sent to us added to our table.

This one just ended but we are looking forward to the next exchange.... Light.

Sick Boy

It's been a long weekend so far... we have a sick little guy on our hands. Feverish and a runny nose and lots and lots of crying with not much sleeping!
Guess I am happy that he is sick now and not next week when we leave for MI.

Couldn't Wait

I was going to wait until Michaelmas before putting out our fall nature table but I couldn't wait any longer... August is the kind of month where there doesn't seem to be much going on... just hot weather so the few cool mornings we had made me wish for fall and want to get out our fall stuff... so here is what we have been working on the past few months.
I am totally over the top for molding beeswax. I love the smell and it's so much fun to create little things with it.

Once I know our family received their package I will post the photos of the stuff we sent them for their nature table.

Busy Weekend

It was a busy birthday weekend.

Auntie Mary and Bobby arrived late Friday night. Saturday was a day of preparing for the party and Sunday was party time.

I will let the weekend play out in photos.

Happy Birthday little Benjamin!

New Bike Helmet- Auntie Mary and Bobby got Ben a bike seat so he can ride with me on my bike. Love the bink!

A wasp or bee or something creepy's nest in the trees out side our apartment.

Party Day...

Trying out the new seat. We rode around the complex. He seemed to like it.
