What's New

Besides watching it rain....

New with Me-
* a haircut and some highlights. Needed a pick me up. I made it look like I have been in the sun!

New with the Bug-
* His Pepe (Josh's dad) is here for 3 weeks.
* Auntie Mary is coming next weekend for a visit.
* Trying to sit up on his own. Can do it with the help of the boppy.
* Getting over his first cold. Still a little cough and a runny nose.
* Not sure if teeth are coming or not... might be why the runny nose.
* Intreguied with any thing electronic- computer, cell phone, flash light, tv remote, the dog (not electronic).
* Says Mama pretty regularly.
* Lots of laughs and giggles.
* Wrist and ankles are pretty chubby.
* Naps- sleeps great for Papa for Mama not so great!

Tomorrow is 7 months. Hard to imagine in a few months he could be walking. Have started looking at all the stuff we have around and wondering if we should baby proof or try and teach him not to touch stuff. I think we are going to have to find a happy place in the middle. There are things that we will pick up, but some stuff there is just no place to move it- vcr, stereo, cable box, dog food and water bowl.

Things are going to get interesting.

Later I will post some photos of him sitting in his bobby.

Something New

Thanks to a friend the Bug has something new to entertain himself with.

He can spin around and check out all the cool gadgets. I feel like our living room is a circuit gym. 10 minutes on each toy and by the time you make it around the room he's ready for a nap and the party ends with a nap. (If we are lucky)

Miles usually is not in the same room with us, let alone this close. Miles will be all snuggled in the bed asleep The Bug enters the room and Miles says good-bye.

The bug is sitting up... then.....

he topples over...

Um.... I'm stuck and can't get up.

He wants to be sitting up all the time. While eating, changing, trying to have him lay in the bed while you make it. He is not stable yet but sure is trying hard.

His binky matches his outfit... he thinks we can't see it!

I am ready for the weekend and to spend time with the little Bug.
Things we are doing or want to do:

*Walk with gal pal through neighborhood to get ideas for landscaping her yard.

*Late lunch with Kim and Judy at Halibuts- our old neighborhood in NE- yummo.

*Go to fabric store and get fabric to finish a project for a new baby Bean that is due to arrive the first of April.

*take photo of cute daffodils blooming by park sign- and post for those of you not quite seeing signs of spring.

*Have coffee and visit with a certain freckled friend.

I hope to be able to scratch all these things off my list come Monday morning!

We are still trying to get The Bug to eat food. Last night he seemed to enjoy Peas! Tonight he will probably close his mouth and turn his head. With the peas he didn't make his normal horrible face. The boy might be odd and like his veggies.

He had his 6 month check up yesterday. He's still 50% for weight and 75% for height. He had the last round of shots until he's 1. Then we have to decide how we want to handle the Measle and Mump shot. We are thinking of going to a homeopath. They will give the shots separately where as the doc won't. They say the risk of Autism is less if the shots are given separately. Still researching it.

All was good. He is progressing as he should be. He has been feeling a little punky the last couple of days. Spitting up more than normal. We think he's fighting a little bug. The doc asked if we wanted to wait on the shots, but since he has had these before and didn't have a problem we figured we would get them out of the way. All seems good- no fever. We gave him tylenol before the shots and later last night.

He is still waking up once in the middle of night for a feeding. The doc is thinking he should be moving away from this. It's hard for me not to feed him when it's been 6 or so hours since he ate last. This is probably more something I need to work on than him. This morning he woke up around 4 and since I don't have to be to work this morning I gave him his pacifier and he slept for another 45 minutes.

Baby steps, Baby steps.

(thanks Auntie Annie for the quilt- I love to snuggle when I'm getting read to at night and for naps)
